The Flash (and idea)

First off I want to say thanks to all the people who have been sending me email telling me that they do read the blog as well as listen to the show. You people rock! You are the reason that I keep doing comicology (even though it is costing me money to do so.)

I plan to use the blog to think out loud about comics, and the show a bit more now. I would really like it if all of you who are reading would reply to the posts via the commenting system or by email I really do care what you all think, and also really enjoy talking with all of you.

Having said that. Lets talk about The Flash.

When I was in junior high and high school I ran cross country. I was never a what I would call a jock or anything (I was never popular in school) but I liked to run.

I think because I was a runner one of the comic book characters taht I really dug a bunch was Wally West AKA “the fastest man alive” AKA “The Flash”.

The Flash was one of the first super heros to bring about the silver age of comics, was one of the first super heros to have only one power (as opposed to Superman type characters that had several).

The Flash is a very important character in the DC cannon.

The Flash is a character that is used to measure comic book history… You have the Golden Age Flash (Jay Garrick), Silver Age Flash (Barry Allen), and Modern Age Flash (Wally West).

Wally West has been the flash for close to 30 years now and as anyone who is following the big infinite crisis event on the DC side of comics knows there is about to be some big stuff going down with The Flash.

Personaly I think that Wally is going to ahve to pass the torch to another, I think we are about to get a new Flash. Does this mean that we are about to enter a new era of comic history? Maybe.

Also, the last issue of the flash is going to be out soon, and I’ve been thinking that I really want to do a show about The Flash. Not a review of any one story, or any one Flash, but a show about the character. What do you all think of that idea?
