Hey people,
Comicology #74 will focus on the Batman: Under the Red Hood story line which is published in two trade paperbacks.
This story is writen by the DC comics rising star writer Judd Winick. To be completely honest I was not really a big fan of Judd’s work prior to reading Under The Red Hood. I knew that Jud Winick was a guy who had been on MTV’s the real world season 3. I knew that he had been working hard to become a successful comic book writer , but I had not really read all that much of his stuff. (Keep in mind that Winick has always been mainly a DC writer, and up until somewhat recently I have been more of a Marvel comics reader.)
I had heard lots of good stuff about Under The Red Hood from other comic book reader who also know what I like and they told me that I should check the book out. When I saw that the first Trade Paper back was a decent size and only cost $9.99 I picked it up. However, I did not read it. I waited till after the second volume (also costing $9.99) came out then I read them both.
Now this was a long time to wait to read the story but I think that it was worth it, because I got to read the story in one read. If I would have read just the first trade and I would have been wanting to go down to DC HQ and start breaking peoples necks till they published the second one
In other words… This was a DAMN good story.
Now that I have read it I can say for sure that I am a now an official Judd Winick fan, and I will be going to Amazon to buy more Judd Winick books
And now on with the show notes.
