I took a look at the states for Comicology 108 and my jaw hit the floor. Libsyn (the service I use to host my audio files) reports that there have been over 2,000 downloads of that show.
This floored me because the prior show has only 600-ish downloads and it has been on the net for a lot longer. I’m thinking that some computer some place really messed up and downloaded the hell out of the show over and over for some reason.
The volume was too low in show number 108 and I think that this is due two things.
1. I am not good at using the device yet and the settings were off. I have played with some new settings and I know that future shows will sound louder.
2. I’m a “loud talker” and when I was walking around the area I live in at about 2:00AM I was making a effort to keep my own “loud talker” voice down. This can be fixed by either talking at my normal level, or by not doing shows outside in the wee morning. I think that I will do both.
Today on the drive home I had some comic related stuff on my mind and I recorded a new show that I’m in the process of editing now. My editing process is really light, I don’t do lots to the show besides mess with the volume of my voice, and add a bit of intro music, so the show should be up rather soon.
(I would put it up tonight but I don’t like putting up a new show so soon after I just did one because a new show seems to sort of kill the downloads on the show that came before it.)
Shawn is still the co-host of comicology, he just has not been able to make it the last few times that I recorded because both of our work schedules refuse to allow us to have the same days off. Shawn will be doing future shows when my work schedule changes later this month.
We plan to record a show at a local Denny’s where were Shawn will geek out about who will / should replace Cap. I don’t know what I will talk about yet.
We both also randomly took a comic book out of our long boxes which we will bring to the Denny’s. We both talk about the book we grabbed. This section of the show will be called “It Came From the Long Box!” I think it will be loads of fun to do.
