Comicology-109 “attack of the 2′nd stringers” (DC’s 52 and Marvel’s Mighty Avengers)

On The Comicology Podcast 109 I talk about how the big two are now doing lots of use of 2′nd and 3′rd string heros in some of their main stories.

52 is the best example where DC used characters like Boster Gold, The question, Elongated Man, etc.

However, Marvel now seems to be doing the same thing with the new Mighty Avengers team.

Mighty Avengers

The show is kind of short (less than 20:00 min) but I hope that you all like it.

Shawn should return to the show soon.

I haven’t listened to this episode yet but i have to say that my favorite 2nd string character of all time is Nightwing. I guess it’s because he has to struggle being in the Bat’s shadow all the damn time.

    Hey Neil,

Don’t forget Matt Fraction when you are talking about the new Iron Fist book. Brubaker and Fraction are knocking it out of the park.

Wonder Man’s new costume is actually and older costume that he wore during the 80’s. The choice of costume was Frank Cho’s decision in Mighty Avengers. Check out this interview with Frank for more details.
